If you are unable to attend the regular consultation hours, the GP can also visit you at home. Please call as early as possible in the day to request a home visit.
Please note: we can only make home visits to patients in postcode areas 1181 and 1182.
Are you unable to attend your appointment? Please let us know at least 4 hours in advance via the assistant. We will cancel your appointment and you can often make a new one straight away. No charges will be made.

If you fail to attend your appointment without cancelling, we will charge the following fees:
Because practice assistants often reserve longer consultations or appointments for you, we charge a higher fixed fee for them.
If you are switching to another general practitioner, please contact us. We require your consent to securely transfer your medical records to your new general practitioner.
Unfortunately, our general practitioners are not trained to give advice on travel vaccinations. For vaccinations and travel advice, please contact the Amstelland Hospital, KLM Health Services whether the Municipal Health Service.
If you are taking medication that falls under the Dutch Opium Act (such as certain sleeping pills, strong painkillers or ADHD medication), you will usually need a medication certificate to be allowed to take it with you when travelling.
The exact certificate you require depends on:
Via the online tool “Taking medication with you when travelling”You can easily check whether you need a declaration and, if so, which one. It only takes a few minutes to complete and you will receive personalised advice immediately.
The general practitioners in our practice are not trained to conduct driving licence examinations. In addition, according to the KNMG, the professional organisation for doctors, it is not permitted for the treating doctor to conduct the driving licence examination, see the text below from the KNMG website.
You can visit the following locations for driving licence examinations: https://rijbewijskeuringsarts.nl/.
General practitioners and other treating physicians are not permitted to issue medical certificates for their own patients. This means that they cannot write certificates stating whether or not you are able to work, travel, exercise, drive or study.
The reason is that a treating doctor cannot objectively assess their own patient. Only an independent doctor (e.g. a company doctor, medical examiner or the CBR) may issue such a statement.
Your general practitioner may provide medical information to an independent doctor if you give your written consent.
Gielen and Rimmelzwaan General Practice is a training practice. This means that we employ a GP in training: a qualified doctor who is specialising in general practice.
The trainee GP conducts consultations independently, always under the supervision of an experienced GP from our practice.
Sometimes we ask for your permission to record the consultation with the GP trainee on video. Such recordings are very valuable for the training programme, as they are used for teaching and supervision purposes. The recordings are only viewed by the GP trainee, the supervising GP and the programme's teaching staff.
Your privacy is fully guaranteed: the recordings are stored securely and used exclusively for educational purposes.
You decide for yourself whether you wish to participate in a recording. If you do not give your consent, filming will of course not take place. Even if you change your mind during the conversation, you can withdraw your consent at any time. The recording will then be stopped immediately and deleted.
