If you are unable to attend the regular consultation hours, the GP can also visit you at home. We call this a home visit. In that case, we ask you to call as early as possible to request a visit.
A home visit is intended for people who are unable to come to the practice for medical reasons, for example if you are too ill to travel, have just been discharged from hospital and are still recovering, or if you have difficulty walking due to old age or a physical disability.
In practice, the examination facilities are better than at home. Therefore, if at all possible, it is always preferable to come to the practice.
